Typical Resident of Cozyrooms
People looking for long-term accommodations. The offering is for short-term visitors. Long-term folks tend to get entrenched and the place begins to take on the feel of being their personal space, which is uncomfortable to other residents.
Unemployed people seeking work. We are not interested in the size of your bank account. We are concerned that you are actively engaged and off the premises during the day.
People on the edge or in the midst of a life crisis. People with personal problems of this sort unwittingly impose on others which is not workable in this environment. People separating from a spouse or partner generally fall into this category.
People who are difficult to get along with or who are disruptive in anyway. Residents share the kitchen and bath with one to two other rooms. Cooperation, courtsey, respect, and quietness are essential.
People with pets. We love pets, but they are a problem in this situation. A pet might bite a guest, create a mess of some sort or escape from the premises—plus many people are allergic to pets, especially cats.
Party students seeking college housing. This is not a "party house". Serious students who understand that a rental agreement is a business contract, who can maintain a tidy environment and who do not have overnight guests are welcome.
People with children. Rooms are single occupancy only.
People seeking rock-bottom rent and wanting to share a room with friends or colleagues. Rooms are single occupancy only.
People with out-of-town visitors coming to stay "a few days". Except for pre-approved spouses or spouce-surrogates, overnight guests are not permitted.
People without a structured daytime activity, such as work, academic research, internship and other activities that takes one off the premises. We do not want people hanging around the room or kitchen all day with nothing to do.
People who are noisy. Quietness and consideration is very important here. Residents are a pretty conservative group. They generally read quietly in their rooms in the evening and tend to go to bed and get up early.
People who are lax in cleanliness. Residents are expected to clean up after using the kitchen and bath.
People who work out of their living space. Running a business on the premises is not permitted. Working at your computer, of course, fine. But any work activity that brings in "customers" or "clients" is not workable.
People engaged in any sort of illegal activity, whatsoever. The reasons for this are obvious.
People using illicit drugs or who drink excessively—again, for obvious reasons.
People who wish to move in their own furniture. The rooms are fully furnished.
People with a lot of stuff. There is no storage available on the premises and residents are not permitted to keep items in the common areas.
